Position Description:The Department of History at Texas State University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Public History with a focus on documentary film (regional and period specialization open). The successful candidate will contribute to a thriving Public History Program and to the Film Studies minor in the College of Liberal Arts. Active participation in departmental programs, service, and governance will be expected of the successful candidate. The successful candidate will be expected to teach upper-division undergraduate and graduate courses in documentary film making and/or the history of documentary film, direct theses and serve on graduate committees, and teach history survey courses in their area of expertise (US or Western/World Civilizations).
