Our History
Frequency Audio-Visual Services began installing hospitality sound systems in 2000, and we soon discovered that our strength lay in finding unique solutions to complex audio challenges. Our clients had limited budgets, challenging acoustic spaces, and aesthetic constraints. We began designing unconventional systems that leveraged the latest technology and creative installation approaches—and quickly became a design leader in Chicago. As our client base expanded, so did their needs for complete AV services. We added video products to our portfolio in 2004 and began offering full system integration when we incorporated in the fall of 2005.

We are an A+ rated member of the Better Business Bureau, and our staff is trained and certified to install, program, and service a wide variety of industry-leading products.\r\n\r\nDesigning the Future\r\nTechnology never stops evolving—and neither do we. We were among the first to advocate for reduced conduit sizing requirements for AV cables, significantly lowering construction costs associated with audiovisual scopes. We also aggressively design systems distributed over Cat5/6 cabling to further reduce costs. Our systems are rooted in the latest technologies while remaining compatible with industry standards and legacy equipment.\r\n\r\nOur “Credo”\r\nWhat makes our audiovisual systems so exceptional is their simplicity. While the systems themselves may not be simple, the end-user experience is. When we design a system, we don’t approach it from the perspective of “a finished project”; we design from the perspective of “a system in use.” It’s not just important that the designer or installer can operate the system—it’s essential that any user can: right away, six months later, or even five years down the line.\r\n\r\nCan end users easily operate the equipment? Can the system be economically serviced by any audiovisual technician? Is the installed system not only aesthetically pleasing but also user-friendly? Can the system be expanded in the future without incurring significant additional construction costs? These are the questions we ask—and answer—before putting our name on a system.\r\n\r\nIt’s the little things that truly matter. When technology doesn’t work, it’s noticeable—it interferes. But when design and installation are done right, technology becomes transparent. Frequency AV keeps this goal in mind when planning, executing, and maintaining integrated audiovisual solutions.
