Job Description

We are seeking an Internal Communications Specialist for a long-term contract role! Our client is a banking client headquartered in Buckhead.

Pay up to $40/hr

Contract (5-6 months)

Hybrid role - home on Wed/Fri

The Internal Communications Specialist is responsible for supporting and executing all internal communications and internal communications strategy for the bank. Responsible for keeping employees informed and motivated through internal communication channels, specifically managing the intranet, email bulletins, executive announcements, employee spotlights on social media and other newsletters as needed.

Internal Communications Specialist Responsibilities:

  • Ensure internal communications reflect the organization’s strategic vision.
  • Ensure organizational initiatives and projects are successfully and consistently communicated to employees across all mediums.
  • Collaborate with division leaders and intranet content authors to ensure their divisions are well represented with up to date communication.
  • Gatekeeper of all internal communication and content coordination.
  • Determine the best communication channels and timing for distributing communication.
  • Manage, write, proofread and edit internal communication content.
  • Manage the intranet, ensuring it is up to date and well maintained.
  • Manage all-employee email distributions to ensure they are clear, concise and informative.
  • Ensure video and photography is effectively used.
  • Measure and present results of communication efforts.
  • Ensure internal communication messages are consistent with external communications messages.
  • Support internal experience activities and strategies.
  • Gatekeeper of internal communications.
  • Decisions most effective way to deliver all internal communications.
  • Decisions what and howi nformation is presented to employees.
  • Manages the intranet (internal communications website).
  • Manages the emailed internal communications.
  • Serve as mentor to the communications coordinators.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, multimedia, public relations, communications, marketing or similar field preferred.Demonstrated strategic thinking, planning, and execution of comprehensive, communications to varying audiences.
  • Exceptional copywriting and copyediting communication skills, witha passion for clear, concise and creative communications.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of AP-style writing, journalism, content management.
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Highly proficient with HTML, WordPress, email campaign systems, social platforms, Adobe Design Suite, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • 5+ years of relevant communications, writing, public relations and/or marketing experience required.
  • High school diploma required.
