Position Responsibilities:

  • Deliver eight or more unique weeks of electrical trade theory instructor-led training (ILT) courses in a classroom, an electrical laboratory (Labtech training modules), and virtually.
  • Deliver electrical trade theory ILT courses covering topics such as (not an all-inclusive list but representative): electron theory; Ohm’s law; Kirchoff’s law; DC combination circuits; Lenz’s law; apparent power, reactive power, and true power theory and calculations; Resistive-Inductive-Capacitive AC circuits; single and three-phase transformers; wye-delta/delta-wye transformer configuration; etc.
  • Lead students using Labtech training modules to reinforce electrical trade theory and calculations derived in class.

Requirements

Education and Corresponding Experience (required on matrix):

  • Associate Degree (or equivalent—e.g. military technical training) with emphasis on electrical-related curriculum is required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree with an emphasis on electrical-related curriculum is preferred.
  • 10 years of directly-related work experience is required.

Required Technical Skills and Experience (required on matrix):

  • 2 years of experience in training, learning, and development, including:
  • 2 years of presentation experience to include making effective presentations reflecting diverse audiences’ understanding of the topics at hand.
  • Intermediated to advanced algebra and trigonometry math skills
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in PowerPoint

Preferred Skills and Experience (optional on matrix):

  • Working knowledge and experience with SharePoint
  • DOE Certified (see below).
  • Experience in the electrical utility industry.

Additional Requirements (not required on matrix):

  • Valid U.S. Driver’s License is required.
  • DOE Certification is required to deliver DOE trainer courses. Upon selection to the assignment, the worker may be required to complete internal/external training (e.g. MIT-111 Basic Instructor Training) to deliver assigned training requirements. The selected candidate has within 2 years of assignment start to complete the MIT-111 Basic Instructor Training. Additional training (MIT-210 Curriculum Training Development) may also be required subsequent to initial training.
